Baby pineapple

The baby pineapple is a small version of the well-known pineapple. Although the size is smaller, the flavour is actually sweeter thanks to the compactness of the flesh. The baby pineapple not only offers a delicious taste, but also has a decorative look that is perfect for decorating dishes. Besides the flavour, the baby pineapple has other benefits. For instance, eating this fruit can provide an energy boost because of the carbohydrates it contains.
Preparation & storage
Prepare
Baby pineapple is too small to peel. Cut the pineapple into wedges from the top (with the crown still on) and serve the wedges. Do remove a small piece of the core. It is a nice addition as a garnish for an appetiser or dessert and, above all, very tasty.
Storage
Store baby pineapples in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and humidity. However, it is important to know that storing this fruit in the fridge is not recommended. The cold temperatures of the fridge can promote the growth of bacteria and the baby pineapple may then rot inside.
