Drink coconut

A drinking coconut is a young coconut. A young coconut contains a lot of coconut water, which is why a drinking coconut is harvested early. The young coconut contains almost no coconut meat but mainly a lot of coconut water. Do not confuse coconut milk and coconut water. This is because coconut milk is made from the pulp and coconut water is the liquid inside the coconut. The coconut water from a young coconut is very nice to drink, with hot days a real thirst quencher.
Preparation & storage
Preparation
When you buy a coconut, it can be quite a chore to get it open. Make a hole in the top of the drinking coconut with a screwdriver, for instance, and then drink the coconut water with a straw. If you do prefer to take the tip off with a sharp knife, make sure you proceed with care to avoid accidents.
Storage
It is important to know that coconut water spoils quickly. This is because coconut water is a natural product and contains no preservatives. Once you have opened the drinking coconut, it is best to store the coconut water in the fridge. It is recommended to drink the coconut water within one day for the best taste and quality.
