5x watery snacks for summer days

14 August 2025

When the temperature rises and the sun shows its best side, it is extra important to drink enough. But sometimes you want more variety than just water. Luckily, there are countless tasty, water-rich snacks that will help quench your thirst.

5x watery snacks for summer days

1. Radishes

Crisp, fresh and with their tangy flavour, radishes are a real pick-me-up for any time of the day. They consist of around 95 per cent water, subtly helping you stay hydrated. Their firm bite and peppery aroma make them not only great to eat on their own, but also delicious as part of a vegetable platter with, for example, carrots, cherry tomatoes and cucumber. For an extra twist, halve them and sprinkle with a little lemon juice or dill.

2. Carambola (Star fruit)

Those in the mood for something exotic can opt for carambola, also known as star fruit. This particular fruit has a fresh, sweet-sour flavour and contains a whopping 91.4 per cent water. Slice it and tiny, perfect stars will appear on your plate. Ideal as decoration in a fruity salad or as a colourful accent in a glass of cold water or iced tea. Carambola also goes perfectly with savoury dishes such as a fresh couscous salad or grilled chicken.

3. Tomatoes
