


Carob



Carob are the dark brown seeds in the pods of the carob tree. Usually the seeds are ground and roasted. As a substitute for cocoa. No sugar needs to be used when using carob. Ground carob is also called locust bean starch. This is used as a thickener (emulsifier E410). You can also buy this to thicken baby food.
