Donkey ears

Donkey ears are actually the same as corn salad, only this vegetable is picked a bit later. As a result, the leaves are a bit larger and firmer. The leaves have a somewhat nutty flavour. The leaves grow together in bunches and are usually picked with root and all.

Preparation & storage
Storage
Store donkey ears in an open plastic bag in the fridge. Donkey ears can be kept in the fridge for 2-3 days after purchase.
In a warm place, lettuce quickly becomes limp. Never store lettuce next to fruit, as the gas ethylene (formerly known as ethylene) is released when fruit ripens. Ethylene causes brownish-red spots on the veins of lettuce, lettuce then spoils faster.
How do I know the lettuce is no longer good? The lettuce is mouldy or wilted. You can recognise this decay by smelling, looking or tasting.
Preparation
When you buy donkey ears, the roots are still attached. Remove the carrots by pulling them off.
