They are the largest fruit of all passion fruits. They are also called large Markoesas. The fruits are ripe light green in colour. The fruits are oblong-oval in shape. The fruits can weigh up to 4 kilograms. The pulp and edible pericarp taste quite neutral. The fruit is used unripe as a vegetable and eaten ripe as a fruit.

Preparation & storage
Storage
Unripe giant granadillas continue to ripen at room temperature (20°) if humidity is high. At higher temperatures, ripening is too fast.
The fruit is best stored in a plastic bag, even at room temperature.
They will keep for at least 2 weeks, although they will shrivel.
Preparing
Halve the fruit and spoon it out. Unlike other types of passion fruit, you can also eat the pericarp.
