Guava

A guava is native to Central America. It is a bulbous to pear-shaped fruit. Usually, the guava has a green or yellow skin. The flesh varies from white to pink and dark red. The taste of the fruit is sweet and sour with an aroma all its own. The small seeds are edible. They are contained in a jelly-like mass within the flesh.
Preparation & storage
Storage
The guava will keep well for 2-3 days on the fruit tray. It is best not to store the guava below 12°C, as this will stop the ripening process.
How do I know if a guava is no longer good? The guava has dried out, become mouldy or lost flavour.
You can quickly recognise this decay by looking, smelling or tasting.
