Japanese Medlar

The fruits of the Japanese medlar look a bit like plums. The fruits are yellow in colour. They contain one or more large inedible seeds. The ripe, firm fruits have a fruity flavour. The taste is somewhat similar to apricots and plums. The Japanese Medlar is a different species from the 'common' medlar.
