

Nashi pear


Marco Polo, during his travels to China, was in all probability one of the first Europeans to taste a nashi pear. He described the special juiciness and aromatic fragrance of this fruit. The nashipe pear an apple-shaped pear and is usually perfectly round. Its inedible skin is thin, yellow-green in colour and rough to the touch.

Store sashimi pears in the fridge. They will then keep for about 1 week.
How do I know if the nashi pear is no longer good? The pear is fair or mouldy. You can quickly recognise decay by looking, smelling or tasting.
Preparation
Peel, cut into segments and remove the core. The skin of a Nashipe pear is not edible.
