Radish sprouts

Radish sprouts are a sprouting vegetable, just like bean sprouts and alfalfa. These vegetables have something in common: the nice spicy flavour and high nutritional value. Radish sprouts are sprouted from radish seeds. They have the same tangy, slightly aniseed-like flavour as radishes.
Preparation & storage
Radish sprouts can be added to a hot dish. Add it at the end of the preparation and let it warm up well.
Preparation times
Heat the sprouts: briefly submerge in boiling water (5 seconds) or stir-fry with the meal.
Cleaning radish sprouts
Radish sprouts are also edible raw. There is a risk that radish sprouts (like bean sprouts) may be contaminated with various bacteria such as salmonella or E. coli.
This is how you reduce the risk:
- It is important to wash radish sprouts well under running water before use.
- Store the sprouts in the fridge (4°C).
- Heat the sprouts: briefly immerse them in boiling water (5 seconds) or stir-fry them with your meal.
Do not eat raw sprouts: Especially small children, the elderly and people with diminishing resistance should pay attention to this.
