Roman chervil

Roman chervil is a kitchen herb with a slight anise flavour. The leaves are only used fresh. Roman chervil is not suitable for drying. Young leaves have the best flavour. The seeds are also used and sometimes ground into powder. Roman chervil is related to chervil, which tastes slightly less aniseed-like.
