Sprouts

Brussels sprouts are the axillary buds of the Brussels sprout cabbage. Brussels sprouts are vegetables from the open field. Brussels sprouts are known for their high vitamin C content. Brussels sprouts have a mildly bitter cabbage flavour, which is why they are often less popular among children. If you add other ingredients, this flavour becomes less pronounced.

Preparation & storage
Storage
You can store Brussels sprouts in a net or an open bag in the refrigerator for 3 to 7 days.
Brussels sprouts can also be frozen, but first blanch them for about 3-4 minutes. Then you can keep them in a tightly closed plastic container or bag in the freezer at -18°C for up to 12 months.
Ready-to-eat sprouts or leftover sprouts from a jar (glass)? You can keep these prepared sprouts for another 2 days in the fridge or 3 months in the freezer. Just be sure to transfer them to a sealed storage container.
How can I tell if fresh sprouts are no longer good? The sprouts are mouldy or yellow. You can quickly recognise this decay by looking carefully.
Preparing
Cut off the underside of the sprouts. Remove any loose leaves and wash them well.
Cook: put them in plenty of water and boil for 10 to 13 minutes. Drain and grate a little nutmeg on top.
