Soft fruit: small in size, big on flavour
9 July 2026
Summer is the season for soft fruits. Think strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries and redcurrants: colourful fruits that not only taste delicious, but are also easy to fit into your daily diet. Whether you eat them straight from the hand, add them to your breakfast or use them in a salad or dessert, you can’t go wrong with soft fruit.

Why choose soft fruit?
Soft fruit is deliciously fresh, versatile and easy to take with you. A handful of strawberries or berries makes an ideal snack, but is also a tasty addition to yoghurt, porridge or a summer smoothie. What’s more, soft fruit contains nutrients such as vitamin C and dietary fibre, depending on the type of fruit. For example, strawberries are rich in vitamin C, whilst raspberries and blackberries are naturally high in fibre.
What can you make with soft fruit?
Soft fruits are incredibly versatile in the kitchen. Of course, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and other berries are delicious eaten straight from the hand, but you can do so much more with them. Start your day, for example, with a refreshing summer smoothie made with soft fruit, combining strawberries, redcurrants and blueberries for a fruity start to the day.

Soft fruit is also a great choice for a festive dessert or a healthy treat. For example, make colourful strawberry skewers, serve a fresh salad with soft fruit, or use a handful of berries as a topping on yoghurt, quark or porridge.
