Blimbing

The blimbing is related to the carambola (star fruit) and is also an exotic, star-shaped fruit. A blimbing is about 8 cm long, greenish-yellow in colour and translucent. It has a sour taste and smell. A big difference from the carambola which smells and tastes sweet. The fruit is sold in the Netherlands in a Surinamese toko under the name birambi.
