Carambola

This fruit is also called star fruit, because slices of carambola resemble a star. The fruit has juicy yellow, translucent flesh. The flavour is fresh sweet and sour. The small green carambola from Brazil turns light green when ripe and is slightly more acidic in flavour than the larger, sweeter carambola from Malaysia, which turns yellow-green when ripe.
