The chinese pear is also known as tientsin pear or yapeer. This juicy pear has whitish flesh and a white to brown skin. Unlike the apple-shaped nashi pear, the chinese pear is more shaped like the 'normal' pear. The Chinese pear is crunchy and tastes sweet.

Preparation & storage
Storage
Unripe pears can ripen just fine on a fruit tray at room temperature. Ripe pears can also be stored in the fridge. They will keep for a few days there.
How do I know if the pear is no longer good? The pear is pitted or mouldy. You can quickly recognise decay by looking, smelling or tasting.
Preparing
You can prepare the pear just like an ordinary pear or apple. Peel it, cut it into segments and remove the core. Then you can eat it cold or warm.
