Goji berry

The berry has been used in alternative medicine for thousands of years for its high nutritional value. The berry is made into juices and teas. Dried goji berries and concentrated goji juice are available in health shops. The flavour of the berry is reminiscent of that of the cherry and cranberry and the texture is like that of the sultana.

Preparation & storage
Storage
Preferably store goji berries spread out on a plate in the fridge, they will keep for a few days. Make sure they do not get damp. If necessary, lay the berries on kitchen paper to absorb moisture.
How do I know if the berries are no longer good? The goji berries are mouldy or limp. You can recognise decay by looking, smelling or tasting.
Preparation
The goji berry is very fragile, so touch it as little as possible. Wash them just before serving. Only remove the stalks after washing.
Dried berries can be used as they are. Dried berries can also be soaked in (lukewarm) water for 5-10 minutes to make them juicy again.
