Preparation & storage

    Storage
Gooseberries should preferably be stored in a paper bag in the fridge.

You can also store gooseberries spread out on a plate in the fridge. Make sure they do not get damp. If necessary, lay the gooseberries on kitchen paper to absorb any moisture.

You can keep gooseberries in the fridge for 1-3 days.

You can also freeze them: lay the gooseberries side by side on a flat plate and let them freeze. Then wrap them in a plastic container or freezer bag and put them back in the freezer. In the freezer (at - 18°C), gooseberries can be kept for a few months.

How do I know if the gooseberries are no longer good? The gooseberries are mouldy or limp. Decay can be recognised by looking, smelling or tasting.

    Storage times
