


Japanese apricots



The 'ume' is the fruit of the Japanese apricot. Ume belongs to the same family as plums and apricots. The fruit is 2-3 cm long and round to pear-shaped. The flesh and skin are yellow, usually with a red blush. The seeds are smooth and light brown, and not edible.
