Palm Heart

Palm heart is the inner part of a young palm tree. In the Netherlands, they are sold almost exclusively in cans. In Brazil, they are widely eaten. Cleaning palm hearts yourself is a huge job, as many layers of bark have to be removed. Hence, you should always buy this vegetable cleaned. Palm hearts are soft and mild in flavour.
