The dragon fruit is also called pitaya or dragon fruit. It is actually a cactus fruit. The dragon fruit does not have spines, but a scaly skin. Hence the name dragon fruit. The red sweet dragon fruit is pinkish-red in colour on the outside. The aromatic flesh is reddish-purple, full of edible little black seeds and reminiscent of kiwi.
