The spring showy mushroom has a recognisably mealy, cucumber-like smell. The mushroom is very subtle but spicy in flavour. The spring showy mushroom is mostly found in meadows, near forest edges and parks. This mushroom can only be seen in spring.

Storage
Use the spring pronghorn mushroom as fresh as possible. Store the spring pronghorn mushroom in the fridge at a temperature of between 4° and 7°C. You can then store it for 2 to 3 days.

Cut a piece from the bottom of the stalk, then cut into slices or quarters.

Refrigerator: 2-3 days

Cooking: 5-7 minutes
Stir-frying: 2-4 minutes
Microwave oven: 2-3 minutes
Deep-frying: 2-4 minutes
Grilling: 2-4 minutes
Braising: approx. 10 minutes

Cleaning the spring wild mushroom (St. George)
Clean dry with a kitchen paper or mushroom brush. Do not wash, or they will fill up with water, losing flavour.
