

Sweetie


The sweetie has been on sale in the Netherlands for almost 30 years. It is a cross between a grapefruit and pomelo. The skin is green to yellow and the flesh is light yellow. Sweetie has a lovely sweet taste, it is the sweet version of a grapefruit. A sweetie is slightly larger than a grapefruit, but has a thick skin. It is best to keep sweetie on the fruit bowl.

Storage
Do not store sweeties in the fridge, just on the fruit bowl. Sweeties can be kept for 1 to 3 weeks.
Preparation
The skin of a sweetie is quite thick. The skin tastes slightly bitter. If you don't like it, use a sharp knife to cut away the flesh between the membranes.
