Tangerines

The tangerine is a type of mandarin. This tangerine is native to Morocco. A tangerine is a citrus fruit from the mandarin tree. Roughly speaking, mandarins can be divided into four types: the common mandarin, the Mediterranean mandarin, the satsuma and the king mandarin. Because of their sweet taste and loose skin, mandarins are also well liked by children.

Preparation & storage
Storage
Preferably store tangerines outside the fridge, in a cool place (12-15°C) or on the fruit bowl. After picking, they do not ripen and will keep for 1 to 2 weeks.
How do I know if a tangerine is no longer good? The tangerine is mouldy, completely dried out or losing its flavour. You can quickly recognise decay by looking, smelling or even tasting.
Preparation
Tangerines are easier to peel than oranges, because they have looser peels. The segments also separate quicker.
