Satsuma Mandarin

Satsuma is the name for a mandarin variety that contains hardly any seeds. Cultivation includes Spain and Italy. A mandarin is a citrus fruit from the mandarin tree. There are many varieties of mandarins. Roughly speaking, mandarins can be divided into four types: the common mandarin, the Mediterranean mandarin, the satsuma and the king mandarin.

Preparation & storage
Storage
Store tangerines preferably outside the fridge, in a cool place (12-15°C) or on the fruit tray. After picking, they do not ripen and remain good for 1 to 2 weeks.
How do I know if a tangerine is no longer good? The tangerine is mouldy, completely dried out or losing its flavour. You can quickly recognise this decay by looking, smelling or even tasting.
Preparation
Satsuma mandarins are easier to peel than oranges, because they are looser in their skin. The segments also separate quicker.
