

Tickle plum


The kriek plum is also known as kroos plum. A very old variety, the plum was probably cultivated as early as ancient times. The plum is also still found in the wild. The fruit is very small compared to ordinary plums. The kriek plum is yellow and has a large plum kernel. The flesh is juicy and sweet. Ripe plums are best kept in the fridge.

It is best to store plums on the fruit shelf. They will then ripen a little more. After purchase, they usually keep for around 5-6 days.
It is best to keep ripe plums in the fridge.
How do I know if the plums are no longer good? The plums are mouldy or limp. You can quickly recognise decay by smelling, looking or tasting.
