Wild peach

The wild peach is also called Paraguayo, flat peach or wild forest peach. This peach is a stone fruit, just like a plum or cherry. As such, the fruit contains a hard, stony kernel. The juicy, firm flesh is white in colour. The wild peach has a delicate sweet flavour that is stronger than that of the common peach.

Preparation & storage
Storage
Peaches will keep for up to 3 days in a cool place. You can keep them in the fridge for about 7 days, but they will lose some flavour and fragrance.
How do I know if a peach is no longer good? The peach has bruises, is mouldy or discoloured. You can quickly recognise decay by looking or feeling carefully.
Preparation
Wash the peach. The skin of a peach is edible. If you prefer to remove the skin, you can easily pull it off with a sharp knife.
You can halve the fruit by cutting it all around and twisting off the pit halves with your full hand. Then you can cut fruit halves into wedges or pieces.
