New on Veggipedia: discover the CO₂ impact of your recipe

12 March 2026

More and more people want to make conscious choices in the kitchen. Not only for their health, but also for the planet. At the same time, it is sometimes difficult to know where to start. This is why Veggipedia introduces a new feature: for recipes, you can now view the CO₂ impact. This way, we make it clear where the biggest impact is. So you can discover for yourself how small adjustments in your meal can already make a difference.

New on Veggipedia: discover the CO₂ impact of your recipe

Why CO₂ in recipes?

The CO₂ information is meant to be helpful. The ingredients we use all have some impact on the environment. Think about the production, transport and processing of food. By making this information transparent with recipes, we want to show where the biggest footprint is within a dish.

After all, often that impact is only in a few ingredients. This means that small changes can sometimes make a big difference, without having to compromise on taste or convenience.

See for yourself at these recipes

Curious about what that looks like in practice? You can already see the CO₂-impact at several recipes on Veggipedia. For example at:

You can see at a glance how much CO₂ impact the recipe has and which ingredients contribute most to it.

Small steps, big difference

Eating more sustainably doesn't have to be complicated. By focusing on vegetables more often, using seasonal products or varying the ingredients from time to time, you can already take steps.

With the new CO₂ information with recipes, we hope to inspire you, so that you not only cook delicious food, but also with more insight.
