Smart and tasty school lunches

A wholemeal sandwich remains a classic, but variety makes it more fun. Try a whole-wheat wrap filled with hummus and grated carrot, or a pita bread with lettuce, cucumber and pieces of boiled egg. Even leftovers from dinner, think pasta salad or couscous with vegetables, can be eaten cold the next day.

Fruity extras
A portion of fruit completes lunch. For example, slice apple segments with some lemon juice against discolouration, or make a fruit mix of strawberry, grapes and banana. In summer, berries, melon and peach are favourites; in winter, tangerines, pear and kiwi are ideal.

Tip
Let your child help fill the lunch box from time to time. Choosing and preparing together increases the chances that everything will be eaten with pleasure!
