Chard

The stems of red chard look a bit like rhubarb stalks. Only chard comes in all the colours of the rainbow, from white and yellow to green and red stems. Stems of chard, by the way, are called 'ribs'. You also eat the leaves of chard. It is a tasty vegetable, which is easy and quick to prepare.

Preparation & storage
Storage
Swiss chard has a short shelf life. Preferably eat chard the same day. You can keep this vegetable in the crisper section of your fridge for 2 days at most.
How do I know if raw chard is no longer good? Chard is discoloured, limp or mouldy. You can quickly recognise this decay by looking, smelling or even tasting.
You can keep leftover cooked chard in the fridge for 2 days or in the freezer for 3 months. Store leftover chard in a sealed container.
Prepare
Wash chard carefully and cut the leaves from the stem after cleaning. The stem requires longer cooking time than the leaf.
The leaves shrink quickly, similar to the leaves of pak choi and spinach.
