Preparation & storage
Storage
Tomatoes retain their flavour and firmness best when stored at a temperature between 12-16ºC.
Do not store tomatoes in the fridge, they will lose their delicious aroma!
Don't store them near cucumbers or aubergines either.
Eat tomatoes at room temperature. The flavour comes out best then.
How do I know if the tomato is no longer good? The tomato is mouldy, has a sour smell or is limp. You can quickly recognise decay by looking, smelling or tasting.
