Preparation & storage
Storage
You can store fresh cranberries for 1 to 3 days, spread out on a plate in the fridge. Make sure they do not get damp. You can put them on a kitchen paper if necessary.
Packed in a plastic bag, they will keep in the fridge for 1 to 2 weeks.
They are good when they feel firm and look shiny.
They are also suitable for freezing. At a minimum of -18°C, they will keep (both fresh and heated) for up to 12 months.
How can I tell if cranberries are no longer good? The berries are mouldy or limp. You can quickly recognise this decay by looking, smelling or tasting.
Preparing
Wash the berries before use. Then boil the berries with a little water and sugar until the berries burst, so boil them with a lid on the pan. Cooking time is approx. 10 minutes.
