Grapes are round to oval fruits. They grow in clusters on a vine. Almost 90% of the total grape harvest is for making wine. Wine grapes are not so suitable for eating. Table grapes are because they are much sweeter. There are blue and 'white' grapes. There are also varieties without seeds.

Preparation & storage

    Storage
You can store grapes for 3 to 4 days in a cool place.

In the fridge, they will keep for about a week. Preferably put them there uncovered on a plate. Or store them in a paper bag.

In the freezer, you can keep grapes in a tightly sealed plastic bag or container for 8-10 months, at a minimum of -18°C.

How do I know if the grapes are no longer good? The grapes are mouldy, discoloured or limp. You can quickly recognise this decay by looking or smelling.

    Preparation
For use in salads, first halve them with a knife and then remove the seeds. Or you can buy grapes without seeds. For use in salads, first cut them in half with a knife and then scoop out the seeds. Or you can buy grapes without seeds.
