Maribelle apple

The Maribelle apple is a juicy apple with a pinkish-red skin and a nice bite. The Maribelle apple is sweet, but not too sweet, which keeps it fresh. The apple comes from the Betuwe region. You can eat it out of hand, but it is also delicious in dishes or in homemade apple sauce.
Preparation & storage
Storage
It is best to store apples in a cool place or in the fridge. In the fridge, they will keep for up to 4 weeks.
Do you keep apples next to a banana on the fruit bowl? Then the apples will ripen faster.
Preparing
The flesh discolours quickly without peel. You can prevent this with a little lemon juice or (cider) vinegar.
The apple, and especially the skin, contains pectin, a substance that helps jelly and jam gel.
Most apple varieties can be cooked and used in all kinds of cold and hot dishes.
Want to bake an apple with skin in the oven? Then slice the skin all around to prevent it from cracking.
