Jonagold apple

The Jonagold originated from a cross between Jonathan and Golden Delicious. It is an apple with an even shape. It has a bright yellow-green skin with an orange-red blush. The flesh is firm, light yellow in colour and deliciously juicy. The apple tastes fresh-sweet and has a delicate aroma.

Preparation & storage
Storage
They are best stored in a cool place or in the fridge. In the fridge, you can easily keep them for 2 weeks.
Are the apples next to a banana on the fruit bowl? Then the apples ripen faster.
Preparing
An apple is an easy fruit. You can eat it straight out of your hand or peel it.
The flesh discolours quickly without peeling. You can prevent this with a little lemon juice or (cider) vinegar.
The apple, and especially the skin, contains pectin, a substance that helps jelly and jam gel.
Jonagold can be cooked and used in all kinds of cold and hot dishes.
Want to bake an apple with peel in the oven? Then slice the skin all around to prevent it from cracking.
