


Pickles



A pickle is a small cucumber. With the difference that a gherkin is not tasty raw. That is why gherkins are pickled in vinegar, possibly with herbs and/or sugar. There are many different kinds of gherkins: from very small (cornichons) to very large (sour bombs).
Preparation & storage
Storage
Fresh gherkins should be kept cool in the vegetable drawer of the fridge. They will keep for about 2 weeks.
Pickled gherkins will keep in unopened jars until the date shown on the packaging. Once opened, store in the fridge.
