Radish is the root of a small plant. This plant belonging to the cruciferous family. These bulging red roots are eaten raw with the skin still on. They taste deliciously spicy. There are also white and red and white varieties. Dutch radishes are very popular. At home, but also in Germany, England and Japan.

Preparation & storage

    Storage
You can find radishes with and without foliage in shops. Without foliage, radishes can be kept in the fridge for about 6 days, with foliage slightly shorter.

The best way to store radishes is in a plastic bag with holes.

The short shelf life of radishes is due to their high moisture content. They quickly turn glassy or black inside because of this.

Radishes are not suitable for freezing.

    Preparing
Wash radishes before use. Then cut a small piece from the top and bottom.

Do you use radishes as a garnish? Then you can cut out the red balls in flower shapes. And of course, as a garnish, you can eat them afterwards.
