Winter carrots

The winter carrot is a large, fleshy root with a bright orange colour. The core is slightly lighter in hue. You can store winter carrots for a few weeks. That makes them ideal to have in the house as standard. Raw and well washed, carrots make a nice healthy and crunchy snack, but you can also boil, bake, stir-fry and stew them. Winter carrots are best kept on the fruit bowl.
