Banana racing car treat

100gr fruit p.p.
Ingredients
8 persons
8 small bananas |
32 soaked plums (approx. 190g) |
8 flagpoles |
20-24 cocktail sticks |
spice cake (approx. 80g) |
black marker |
Preparation
Hold your own Grand Prix? You can with this banana racing car. You can even make a race car with driver. And at pit stops, you don't change the tyres, just eat them ;-).
1. Make the wheels: stick 2 cocktail sticks at the bottom of the (lying) banana. Prick 4 plums on them.
2. Stick a flagpole into the stem of the banana.
3. Make the handlebar: place an egg cup (or narrow glass) on the spice cake, now cut out a round around the glass. Break a cocktail stick in half. Stick the half cocktail stick at an angle to the top of the banana (at the level of the 2 front wheels). Prick the gingerbread round on top.
4. With black marker, you can write the name of the favourite driver on it or the birthday boy or girl's age.
5. Repeat steps 1 to 4 for each banana race car.
Tips:
- Race car with driver: print out small photos of the birthday boy or children from the class. Stick these on half a cocktail stick and stick them behind the steering wheel (see photo).
- Serve the cool race cars on a car race track or car road made of felt (see photo).
- They can also save the banana for a later date, well eat it the same day.
Good to know:
The wheel (spice cake round) weighs only 5 grams per treat. In this recipe we charge 10 grams per treat, you need some margin to stick out the handlebars. You can of course eat the gingerbread leftovers (later).
