Dutch beetroot

280gr vegetables p.p. & 35gr fruit p.p.
Ingredients
2 persons
sugar |
2 cloves |
1 small apple |
500g cooked beets |
vinegar |
1 small onion |
1 tablespoon liquid margarine |
Preparation
1. Remove the skin from the beets and cut the beets into strips or cubes.
2. Peel the onion and chop it small.
3. Fry the onion in the margarine until soft.
4. Peel the apple, remove the core and dice the apple.
5. Add the beetroot, apple, ½ dl water, some vinegar, some sugar and the cloves to the onion and simmer gently for 10 minutes.
6. Remove the cloves.
Menu suggestion: Delicious with lentils and potatoes.
