Red cabbage with figs

250gr vegetables p.p. & 50gr fruit p.p.

Ingredients

2 persons

½ red cabbage or 500g sliced red cabbage
cinnamon
4 juniper berries
about 1 tablespoon of sugar
4 cloves
vinegar
2 fresh figs (or 4 dried ones)

Preparation

1. Clean and shave the red cabbage into thin strands.
2. Remove the stem from the figs and cut the figs into quarters.
3. Bring the red cabbage with the figs and spices to the boil in a little water.
4. Cook until tender, about 25 minutes.
5. Season the cabbage with vinegar and a little sugar.

Menu suggestion: Delicious with fried chicken breast and potatoes.
