


Plum tomatoes



Plum tomatoes are also called roma tomatoes or pomodori. They belong to the fruit vegetables. Plum tomatoes are oblong, oval tomatoes with little moisture. They are firm and fresh-sweet in flavour. Particularly suitable as a base for soups and sauces, but also for oven dishes.

Preparation & storage
Wash the plum tomato and you can eat it on the go. Sliced on a wholemeal sandwich or in a salad is also delicious.
Want to do it really chic? Then cut the bottom of the tomato with a knife and dip it briefly in boiling water and then immediately in cold water. Then you can peel off the skin in no time!
For a diced tomato dish, cut the tomato and remove the seeds and juice.

Cooking: approx. 10 minutes
Stir-frying: 2 - 4 minutes
Microwave oven: 4 - 8 minutes
Grilling: 3 - 5 minutes
Braising: 15 - 20 minutes
Cleaning plum tomatoes
Wash the plum tomato. You can eat it on the go or cut it into cubes, slices or wedges.
Want to remove the skin? Then cut into the bottom of the tomato with a knife. Submerge the tomato briefly in boiling water and then immediately in cold water. Then you can easily remove the skin.
